Follow the State Road of the Puster Valley (number 49) till Toblach / Dobbiaco, then exit towards the town, cross it and continue northwards. After approx. 400 m turn left to Wahlen / Valle San Silvestro and follow the main road until you arrive at the parish church. At the crossroads in front of the church take the first turn on the left and drive in the direction of Silvesterhof Hotel. As you pass by the Hotel, continue for some 50 m forward and you will find Altmessnerhof Farm on the left side of the road (GPS coordinates: 46°44'38.5"N 12°13'53.2"E).

Altmessnerhof Farmis the starting point for summer and winter hikes to Kandellen / Gandelle, Ratsberg / Monte Rota and, of course, to Toblach / Dobbiaco, which is deservedly called the “door to the Dolomites”. For travelling in a faster way, take advantage of city buses that connect Wahlen with the railway station of Toblach / Dobbiaco and proceed to the Rienz Ski Centre and to the Nordic Arena (bus frequency – every 30 min.). During your winter stay at Altmessnerhof Farm, you will receive a HolidayPass that allows to use free of charge all ski buses and city buses of the Puster Valley and all other means of public transport in South Tyrol (including regional trains).
